If you were to trade it in, dealers will pay you about 10 or 11k depending on the condition of your vehicle.

Talk the dealer up on the trade-in then....IF they want your new business.

yeah, considering the model changed. And the Nismo Kit, not really worth too much on trade in either. They just go by the VIN number on most cases, like the insurance company when a vehicle is claimed a total loss. Oh and one more thing, when selling a car to a dealer, they check if any body panel has been repainted. There is a deduction for every body panel that has been repainted, except for the bumpers. You can tell by running your index finger along the edges. Non-repainted panel is smooth, and repainted panel is rough. FYI.

Seriously? I never knew this. My dad repainted his truck and the paint is smooth, so does that mean its never been repainted?

just go open your car door and rub your finger along the edges, then go rub on the edge of the re-painted panel. Then you will know what I mean. Dealers consider any re-paint an accident repair, so there are deductions. No matter how good of a body shop you go to, dealers can tell because, when vehicles are assembled, the body panels are dipped in paint and when re-painted at body shops, paints are sprayed onn. So, if you have little door dings or rock chips in your original factory paint, don't re-paint it, its worth more when you sell it, then as if you were to have it re-painted. But, like I said before, bumper is ok.

stealerships will rape you on any trades... better off selling privately OR sell it to carmax, they'll give you WAY more money than what you can get for a trade.

I recently sold my nissan frontier to carmax for $19K (granted it only had 3K miles on it) and the local dealers (cerritos nissan) gave me $14,5K and thats trying to hound them for a good deal.

When you trade your car in they have this little machine that test your paint weight? Something like that, definitely will not give u full trade in if the numbers are different.
