LED 3rd brake light pain in the butt
Anyone replace it w/o removing the back seats and rear deck lid? While doing this nightmare before I removed everything.
I had to do it again and tried removing it by going in though the trunk.(simply unplug the plastic clips and bend the fuzzy liner down and taking out the insulation) I could gain access to one set screw easy. I FINALLY managed to take out the other side by using a bunch of small screwdrivers and swearing etc.. Why in the hell did they line up the access hole off center to the brake light mount?!
The light came out easy enough. Have to bend the mountings a bit to slip it out but it's not bad.
I got ONE screw back in easy. THE OTHER ONE IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET BACK IN! There's no way to get the screw on the tip of the screwdriver and guide back in. It's at such a severe angle that the screw falls off and gets stuck inbtween the two rear shelf sheetmetal!
Anyone actually successful in getting the 2nd screw back in? I might try elmers gluing the screw onto a driver and then trying it but would like to hear from someone that's actually done it.

Hey Jeff how about you and I just trade...I have the trunk with the led in the wing and I'll take the one in your window  I just beat a ticket for not having a 3d brake light since I had the carbon fiber trunk

I might drill an access hole though the sheet metal just for this stupid screw!

Intermittent 3rd brake light here too...does any one know what the problem actually is?
Is it in the wiring, in the led circuit, in the connection...this car is so damn problematic!
And I see people have fixed it, did you fix it with a new part or something else. I was thinking about just adding the spoiler and dodging the issue all togather but then I dont know if I would run in to the same issue. Suggestions? My car wont pass inspection until it's fixed.

update....just went out and tried looking at it from underneath trunk lining, saw the connection clip so I disconnected and checked power there is power to connection so definately somewhere in the assembly...reconnected still no lights, tore off padding and reached around and found some wires wiggled them and voila! light is working...havent gone for a test drive yet though.
