Its not life threatening so I'll wait. I considered fixing it myself; however, while the plastic inner panel is easy to remove, the steel inner panel is daunting. I'll have the dealer fix it.

Re: Mad about the G35 doors

I had my oil changed and my sunroof visor installed so I got a I35 with sport package as a loaner. Handles pretty good, good acceleration, much more comfortable suspension and an awesome automatic rear window shade (nice touch !). The doors STILL need to be slammed ! If it wasn't for other cars that I drove and had or still have, I would have thought it's just me. But my 98 Pontiac Grand Prix and my previous 03 Acura TL-S had a much, much better mechanism of closing the doors. I guess that's how Infiniti does it, so I'm just going to put it to rest (the dealer told me that the doors close Ok, so what else can I say/do ....).

If your dealer says slamming the door is normal, then have another dealer look sometime. Maybe his idea of normal might differ somewhat. If it were me, I'd hate to slam the door. I also find it helps to keep hinges, handles, and striker all well lubricated. Good luck.
