rim size help

if i were to get 19" x 9.5" rims in the back on a sedan, would the rim be too wide and stick out of the side, or would it fit pretty well.
i just hate it when rims poke out of the side,
it looks stupid

any help appreciated

Will fit fine, just depends on the offset of the wheel.

What offset?
What size tire?

I believe a 9.5" would fit and not stick out down to a ~+34 if you rolled your fenders.

9.5" w/36 offset and 265 or 275 and you would be set.
