2003 JDM 250GT Sedan

Hello guys,

I am new to the forum. i am a new owner of a 2003 Skyline 250 GT Sedan that was imported from Japan.

I know these questions probably have been asked millions times, but I have sone lots of searches before I am posting this thread. Can't seem to find lots of information for a 250gt

Questions are:

1. I am going to be running 19" x 8.5 in the front, 19" x 9.5" in the back. Enkei rims. What are the recommended tires size? front 235/35/19? front 235/40/19? Rear 255/40/19? Rear 265/40/19?
2. How's the power like with a rear 265 tire?
3. I am going to drop it, just the springs, won't be too low. I really like the comfort of the suspension now, really don't want to change it to TEINS. How would that be rubbing the fenders for the tires selection i have above?
4. Also, not sure if you guys have this, but there is a little very tiny button that is sitting on close to the trunk button, it says "auto" on there, anybody knows that is?

I think these are the questions i have for now. I will be posting pictures next week once they re-painted the fenders for me.

Thanks guys.

Everything else on this site applies for cosmetics and suspension.

Welcome to the forum xbird, and congrats on the purchase/import of your G. You're gonna love the styling and hidden power of your ride!

As for your questions, I can't personally comment on the tire sizes since I run 19x8.5 with 245/35/19 tires all around (non-staggered). Depending on the tire sizes and springs selected, you may need to have your fenders rolled. I have Eibach Pro-Kit springs on mine (1.1" drop front & rear), and I have no issues of tire rubbing. For the 'auto' button in your car, we don't have that feature in our cars. Maybe take a pic and post it up for us? If your car comes equipped with an owner's manual, you can probably find out what that button is for.

In the meantime while we wait for your pics, give us more details of your 250GT sedan (i.e. navigation, 6-speed manual or 5-speed auto, parking sensors, color of car, etc.)

I thought the 250gt was still a 6cyl but with less power...of course.

its a 6cyl still

come over and check out some of the info on skylines australia (http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/for...ines-f170.html) we have a section that is all V35's imported from japan to australia!

the cars cosmetically and mechanically are very similar, but the main differences are the dash and wiring of electronic components. this means many components made with wiring harnesses for the G35 won't fit, but conversely we have an auxillary AV input as stock if you have the TV screen

come and post up your quesries over there and take pics of the "auto" button and other things you are asking about. we had the option of auto dipping side mirriors in reverse, and this may be the button you have in question 4, but its hard to know without seeing the button.

cheers,
Warren

245/35 275/35 tires if your offsets are around +35 front and +45 rear.

Warren, what sort of differences in wiring are there? The only difference I've noticed so far (and I haven't dug deep) is that the USDM Bose stereo faceplate is slightly different - the CD/FM/SAT/Tape butons are about 1/4" higher than the JDM. Otherwise it fits right in, all the harnesses plug in and it works perfectly, and I get normal radio frequencies instead of the Japanese ones. The other difference I see is the clock - ours is digital and in the main display instead of analog and underneath it. I prefer the JDM.

My 250GT also has the auto dipping mirrors in reverse, plus they auto close (pull in) when I hit the lock button on the key. Our keys have the lock/unlock in the key itself, not a separate fob.

well for a start we have a TV tuner where the G35 does not. this means that if you pull off the boot carpet and look under the passenger side piece of plastic, you will see a whole lot of extra wiring and a TV tuner box. all the wiring with the TV tuner is different

also, the G35 has the XM satellite radio which we do not. this is extra wiring behind hte console that is totally different.

i have had my car converted over to run a garmin navigation unit and DVD player through the stock screen, and the person who did the install is a very respected audio guy over here in australia and he does all the alarm and navigation conversions for V35 imports in brisbane, australia. He has informed me that the wiring is totally different in mayn aspects of the dash.

also, we don't have cruise control but hte G35 does, again more wiring

we also don't get heated seats so there is an extra harness associated with that on the G35

physically its similar to look at, but apart from the stereo the rest is all totally different
