reprogramming key fob question

reprogramming key fob question

i am trying to program a new key fob
my question is do i use the key thats in the fob or the standard key that come with the car or does it matter

It won't matter what key you use, you just have to make sure you have the chip from inside of the stock key so the car will start.

There is a chip inside of your stock key, not the alarm remote. Without the chip your car will not start. The chip can be removed and placed into another key so your car will start.
