G35 cruise control

Hi,

i am new here and am enjoying all the info that can be found on g35's. great website. I have a question which i am hoping can be answered relating to cruise control and the G35 sedan (2004). If the car was not fitted with cruise control from the factory is it possible to get a cruise control steering wheel which has the cruise buttons and hook it up? I guess what i am asking is, does the ECU run the cruise or it is something completely different that is physically fitted to the car?

Any help would be much appreciated,
thanks,
Peter.

As far as I know, cruise control comes standard on all G35's.

Yes, but not 350GT. I was thinking of using a infinity s/wheel which has the controls and hooking it up somehow but am unsure of how cruise works on G35's

I think it would be more complicated than that. There is also some kind of actuator or solenoid that depresses the gas pedal to maintain speed.

Couple of threads about this (adding cruise control to JDM V35s) on the Skylines Australia site:

Attempting to get the US spec cruise control system working:

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/for...e-t212055.html

Fitting aftermarket cruise control:

Chris Rogers in that forum is the guru on the V35 electrical system, as per the first thread he had a go at getting the cruise going on a car that didn't come with it as standard, eventually he gave up and went down the aftermarket route (though using the OEM buttons to control it).
