Help! Car won't start...

I got into my car this morning and attempted to get my day started. When I turned the key, all I got was a ticking noise (starter I am assuming), but the engine did not turn over. In fear of damaging anything any further, I stopped trying and just took another car to work.

Anyway, I need help trying to diagnose this. All of the lights still work (inside and out), so I am assuming my battery should be ok. Did my alternator go bad? I was hoping that it was just the battery, but I don't think it is. What other things should I look into?

Your battery is dead, try to jump it from another car. Ticking noise -->battery, 99.9% sure

might be the starter if your lights work fine, but most likely the battery

I had something similar happen and my clutch sensor was dead. if you have a 6MT you should look into that, its a $10 part.

Thanks guys. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to jump the car this morning, so I will have to give it a shot when I get home this afternoon. I really hope it is just the battery and I will update once I get a chance.

If you get the starting trying sound I would be 99% it's the battery.

your battery might still have enough juice to power your lights for a few mins but not to crank over. LIke every is saying, if you hear the clicking sound it just sounds like a dead battery
