Well i have read and heard a lot about the oil consumption problem with the G35. In fact one of my friends that owns a 06 G35 Coup M/T is currently doing his consumption test. We will find out the results when he hits 1k and the dealer does a second check. Well my question is if there is anyone out there that has had this problem with a G35X of G35 coup or sedan with automatic transmission. I own an 05 G35X. All the info i read deals with the M/T. Even the Infiniti Service Bulletin didn't include the A/t for the applied vehicles. Kinda worried right now but want to see if and A/T owners had this problem.

 

nothing to worry about, the problem is with the rev-up engine and your car doesn't have one.

 

i got an 03.5 and it consumes oil, rev up or not?

 

I have a 5AT and I never have any oil consumption issues. When I do my oil changes, I usually drain out the full 5 quarts of used oil every time.

 

'05 35x - Going through the oil consumption test right now. Went to the dealer 2 days ago - after 1,000 miles from oil change - NO compsumption found. I'll go another 1,000 and test again. I know not a rev-up but just making sure - I want to keep this car awhile. By the way t I just came from an '02 Audi A6 2.7t - Loved the car not the bills and maint. - LOVE the G35x - more sport.

 

Let me know how that goes. I want to see how many A/T and G35 X have had this problem and what year the vehicle was. I have only put 1200 miles on the car since i bought it.
