Little Help please!
Little Help please!
I am going to be having few questions on my 03 auto. The car was hit and now i am trying to finish it off ( whoever owned the car before me did not finish puttinf misc parts on )
1. From reading the PDF Dealer manual i understand that I need a tool to check the AT Fluid Level?? Or sipmply drain it and put back the specified amount fluid and just drive it.
2. For checking the codes on the entire christmas tree I have on the dash I can use only Consult 2? Is there any other software that is usuable on Infinity?
3. On the Xenons is there a way to check if the ballast is good? Meaning how do I know if ballast went out or the bulb?
Thanks!

Responses:
1) On some '03 sedans (and all '04+ sedans), there is a dipstick for checking the AT fluid located near the center of the firewall behind the engine. Best place to find it is from the passenger side. The dipstick is held on by a 10mm hex bolt. If there is no dipstick, you'll have to purchase one (go to g35parts.com and check the OEM parts section).
2) I believe CONSULT-II is the only code reader applicable for the G35. You can always have your codes read for free at any auto parts store (e.g., Autozone, Advance Auto Parts).
3) You can check the bulb first to see if it has blown. If it looks good, then it's possible that either the ballast or the wiring is bad.
