More insight on what is now my '05 G35

I'm officially the owner of an '05 G35 6mt black on black, premium package sedan w/ 26k miles on it.

Couple more questions for the experts:

1.) Should the buttons on the rear view mirror be illuminated?

2.) Has anyone just dropped the front of their sedan on say z-springs, and left the rear alone?

3.) Is there typically what feels like slack in the clutch, 2" or 3" of movement before the clutch actually engages? If so, I'll see if I can get the slack taken out.

4.) Anyone find that they need to tighten the parking brake over time. The parking break seems like it could be tightened.

I'm couldn't be happier to own a G35 6mt. What a fantastic car! I've only had it a couple of days, but damn, this ride is the real deal!

I can only help with the answer to question 1, and that answer is no, the buttons are not illumated. Just a little light should be on when the auto-dimming function is on. Hope that helps and enjoy your new G!

1) no

2) not that i know of... i dropped mine with unrevised 350z springs with my sport suspension... it handles a lot better and more responsive... looks better too imo... just dont like the pogo effect on really rough roads...

3) i feel that too... i thought my clutch was going... i bought mine @ 30k and it feels the same still. it engages with no slipping for the clutch yet.. im at 58k... sometimes i have to go easy or my tires spin from 1st to 2nd... not the smoothes clutch but it works...

4) ebrake dosnt feel loose... might wanna get that checked...

my question is that do you feel power at about 4000... it feels sluggish till about 4000k... i have a greddy exhaust with a k&n drop filter... i notice the sound changes at that time... ive been hearing about the phelum and 3/8 spacer makes a diff in mid range... but where in the mid range 2000k, 3000k?

hopefully i answered you ???s

It's not so much that the parking brake is loose as it just takes a full pull on it to set it, it seems anyway. In my limited driving, I'm getting full response at all rpm ranges, but I haven't really "driven" it yet. Thanks for the insight guys!

Congrats on the new car, the excitement never goes away. I won't even give you **** for not searching because it took me like 10 minutes to find your answers, and I knew they existed.

3. Common problem. There is another one floating around here that just uses plastic furniture shoes. I definitely recommend doing this as it just feels more natural. https://g35driver.com/forums/engine-...ent-point.html

4. Another common issue. Fix it before before a "quick stop to grab the mail" becomes very expensive. https://g35driver.com/forums/brakes-...6mt-sedan.html
