For Those Who've Added A Front Lip (Chin Spoiler) HELP!

I purchased the OEM front chin from someone on this forum that got it from the group buy from EverythingG35. I have an '06 sedan and it's from an '05, which makes no difference as I'm aware. I am needing the placement paper to know where to drill the holes on my bumper. I called EverythingG35 and they said they use clips and there is no screwing involved.

The lip that I have has bolts on the inside in a few locations and without drilling into my bump it will not go on. I'm wondering if anyone who bought their lip from that group buy or anyone who has added the OEM front lip if it had bolts on the inner portion of it and if you ad to do any sort of drilling into the bumper. I will take pictures of what I'm talking about tomorrow.

I had to drill 4 holes in my 05 coupe to add the oem front chin spoiler. There were 4 bolts inside the lip and clips that go along the bottom of the lip. Mine came with the placement paper that showed me where to drill.

If you have a bit of mechanical mind set you can do it no problem. Place the front lip up to the car and align the lip up to how it would go if there was holes. Mark where the bolts go in and drill the holes. The two inner bolts, drill those holes to the left and right making it more of a oval. Keep increase those from side to side until you get it to fit. I had mine painted recently and just re-assembled it with bolts and put 3m tape back where the old tape was. Cleaned the old tape with a razor blade and scrapped it away.

Hmmm, I wonder why when I called they said that they don't have any placement papers that come with the front lip. I asked the dealer first and they told me I would have to buy the front lip if I wanted the placement paper, which is stupid because I had just told them I have the lip and only need the paper.

That's what I was planning on doing as a last resort. BTW, I still have to get that alignment done and have put it on the backburner, but I plan to get it done sometime this month or early next. I will give you a call. Guess for now I'll go ahead and do what you mentioned, thanks for the tip on drilling in an oval shape.

I had to have the help of a friend because I needed him to hold it while I matched it with the bumper. I couldn't see myself doing that by myself. You do have to drill into the bumper.

Got it installed guys. Looks great. I had the help of my cousin and uncle. Only needed 2 people really though. And the oval drilling really helped.

Opps too late. I was gonna say you don't need to drill holes. I got my panel beater to grind off the bolts, used sika-flex adhesive to hold the front and sides and then bolts on the bottom and the ends to hold it in place. That way if I ever damaged the lip and needed to remove it, I wont have holes in my bumper.

Ah...oh well. I thought of using my dremel and cutting/grinding off the bolts, but thought it would hold better if they were in.

I think it looks pretty good. Tough to tell with the pic I saw, the lip was white the car was blue.
