bose sound system: yay or nay?
The current system is of an OK quality (and has a history of breaking down-- I've gone thru 2 already). The subwoofer is low enough, but does not carry the richer, deeper tones and misses the nuances you might want to hear if you're into classical or Jazz. Midrange is weak, as is the higher section. If you're jamming on Australian pub rock, bat-cave, rock, hip-hop, head-banger or pop music, nuance may be less critical than plain loudness.
For me, it depends on what type of music I'll be listening to-- and loud and intrusive sounds get in the way of my driving experience.

not worth it by all means to me.
i went from a nissan altima, in which I had installed and Alpine Head Unit, 2 6 1/2 Type Rs, 2 6x9 Type Ss, and a fairly cheap amp to power it all and the sound was 104530487753 times better than this cheap bose system. basically the problem with bose is that they do not make their own product, they hire another company (cant remember the name at the moment) to build their equipment, then bose buys it off them and slaps their name up in and charges 200% more than you would normally buy a system of the same or better quality.
i know this from experience with a lot of bose equipment, you can jack up the treble and never good a good clear sound from your tweeters and the bass is always way to thick sounding. get a stock system and switch it out with the money you save from not buying the car with a bose system.
"No highs, no lows, just Bose"

Well that depends on you:
How much do you like your music? Personally I would shell out the extra money just because it would bother me to not have the other things that come along in the premium package besides the bose system.
And about the "No Highs, No Lows, Just Bose" <--------lol so true
over the base system though, the bose system is an improvement...
get in the cars and try listening to both of them.

well.. since you are getting the car used.. i think the sound system shouldn't be the deal maker or breaker..
BUT if you are getting a car without NAV. I would go with the base, NOT BOSE, system. It would be easier to upgrade to a Doubin Din NAV and not worry about the factory bose amp.

Guys another question(s): is there anything i should know about 05 g35 sedans, for example: any recalls or major problems? For those who have black g35, how hard is it to keep it clean?
its really not that great, the good part is that its factory installed and comes with a warranty.
bad part, if you want to upgrade your audio, it can be difficult to bypass
if the car you are looking at has Bose and you really want the car do it, you can run new wires and an amp later and sell the bose set up online somewhere
