Many transmission fluids on the market meet or exceed the Nissan Matic-J transmission fluid performance standard. It is not required to use overpriced dealer service department transmission fluid. Any brand fluid can be used as long as it meets the Nissan Matic-J performance standard, just as any oil can be used as long as it meets the required API standards, but doesn't have to say, "Nissan Oil", on the bottle. Don't let high-pressure, scare tactic dealer service departments rip you off.

If you look at the bottle, RP 5W-30 and 10W-30 is API SL rated, which is for 2004 and previous vehicles. API SL is an old spefication from 5 years ago now. Your vehicle being a 2006, you may very well find your owners manual specifies the up to date API SM rated oil in order to maintain the engine warranty. You might be better off using a modern, up to date API SM rated motor oil.
