How much Depreciation???

ok so i bluebooked my ride and says i could get $11,500 ish for my 04' sedan. (63k miles)

how much more do you think it will depreciate by next year this time if assuming:

- i put on the average 12k miles on over the year
- i don't add any damages to the vehicle and keep it pretty much in the same condition

any guesses? can anyone point me to where i could get a rough estimate?

thanks!!

Its that trade of private sale? I thought these cars would keep their value better than that

I think you should compare the difference in value of your '04 with 63K vs. an '03 with 75K. That should give you a pretty good idea of what your car will be worth next year with 12K more miles on it.

$11.5K? Is that trade in? Maybe it's the region you live in, but here in the Midwest, 04 RWD G35 sedans with 50-60K miles are going for $16K-18K, depending on options. I could easily sell my 03 for $15K.

Also, make you're using NADA value. Not Kelly BB. Kelly is dealer-sponsored publication. The values work in the favor of dealers, not the consumer. Why do you think dealers are always quick to point out Kelly BB value vs NADA?

I checked private party on my car and it is in the 11-12k range too.

1st gen sedans are not holding their value well right now at all.

Would you prefer cash or cashiers check?? How much have you put in it?
I bought mine 8-25-08 with like 111k miles for $9500.00 after the bs $200.00 "Lot fee" or whatever.. If I didn't feel like I was already stealing the car I would have fought to get that waived..

Great used buy....but i wouldn't buy one brand spanking new unless i was going to keep it for >5 years or was rich.

For me, i'm one of those 5+ people. I gotta buy a house and stuff so i am not all that concerned with buying a new car every 3 years to impress people anymore.

i was thinking of getting rid of my car b/c it's now in the shop after some dipsh1t t-boned me two weeks ago.

https://g35driver.com/forums/lounge-...cs-inside.html

so, i was thinking i'd drive it for another year and think about getting rid of it. not to try and impress anyone but b/c w/ 3 accidents now (none my fault) i feel like it's time for another project. we'll see.
