Adding the coupe midpipe won't give much change in sound. Using the 03/04 muffler will give you a nice change in sound because it's about 20% smaller. You'll have to buy the 03/04 muffler bracket (~$40). A set of 07+ Altima exhaust tips ($30) and some black paint would set it off too. The HR y-pipe will add even more sound ($100) plus improved driveability and throttle response. Or could get the HKS muffler for $300+ and add a ood bit of noise but also some drone.

05/06 Sedans should keep the midpipe.. it's a waste of money and effort (considering you have to bend the heatsheild, and replacing half of those rusty bolts) so I am ordering my HKS exhaust sometime next week

Thanks to everyone who answered my question.
Not quite. It offers a different sound which all boils down to preference. There is no one absolute choice. The different mid pipes all offer a difference in sound/volume (due to resonators) and everyone may have a different preference on how they want their cars to sound. For all you guys focusing on getting the FX sound, cut out your spare tire well and mount a FX or coupe muffler because that’s the only way you're going to do it.

+1

Sorry if i sounded ingnorant and responded for the behalf of 05/06 sedans.. I agree that would be the only way to get the FX sound. But after all these responses i think I am going with the HKS exhaust and possibly get the HR y-pipe in a month or two. Thanks again guys

If thats what it's going to take then i guess i'll have to forget that idea. As much as i want that sound, i'm not going to resort to hacking up my car to get it. There's gotta be something else I like

Assuming it sounds like this, i'm not really liking it.

I do like the appearance of the muffler though. One of the better looking mufflers i've seen

However, here's an 03/04 with coupe mid-pipe and HKS muffler and i like how this sounds

Im hope there are gonna be some meets in the near future around the Tristate area.. I would def love to hear some exhausts in person.. rather than you tubing them to figure out what i want.

I have an 05..if I threw on the coupe mids would it give me a deeper throatier sound like the coupes or would I have to get the axle-back to really notice it? Sorry I know it's been covered i'm just trying to know for sure before I do it.

05/06 midpipe with HR y-pipe ~30% throttle (all the piping was cold, 20 degree night, so there's some metallic ringing when I first accelerate. That disappears within 2 minutes of driving)

In the car at WOT, traction control on

i personally think that a g35 sedan sounds best with straight pipes...id post a video but i have nothing to record one. let me just say that it sounds mean as hell at WOT, and at cruising speeds on the freeway it is not much louder than stock(no joke). plus it doesnt really stick out like a sore thumb to cops in terms of looks( in fact it almost looks like the tips on the hks exhaust)

if anyone in the bay area is interested in hearing the exhaust, let me know! im down to meet up

I have an 06 and swapped out my mid-pipe early on. The coupe mid pipe is much smaller and weighs substantially less. I like the sound of the coupe MP as the stock sedan MP just did not have any meat to it IMO.
