Need part number/part name for 06

Hi,

Can anyone tell me what is the name or the part number for that rectangular piece on the center of the front bumper (I removed the license plate bracket to find that piece is missing).

Thanks,
Larry

It's removed to mount the front lisence plate cover, but usually it's somewhere in the car. Check in your spare tire well or in your glovebox. I discovered mine in my glovebox after wondering where it was when i took my front plate bracket off to clean under it.

I found a place to sell this OEM piece but it is not painted, it is in black. Let me know if you need the website, it came to $20 with S/H for me. BTW, it is not difficult to paint either, all you need is adhesive promoter, custom spray paint for K23 and clear coat. Local autozone has everything except the custom spray paint.

I have an 06 Sedan in K23. I know I had that cover in my trunk when I bought the car. I have a front license plate.

Mustang, if you happen to fly out to the LA area sometime, will you wash my car? You really took off your license plate to wash it? That is excellent. Do you do bathrooms? (I do think I saw the pictures of your car with salt from the snow all over it. I have to assume that is what prompted such a thorough job.)

anybody ever taken off their front plate for good? Im thinking of doing it but dont want to have to fill and repaint the bumper. Any alternatives to filling those predrilled holes?

Yes, i really do take the front plate off to wash the car. In all fairness, i was clay-barring and waxing the front bumper, and i wanted to get behind it. But if i'm giving it a quick wash, i usually don't. It's easy to do though and only takes a minute.

I can't wait for spring as this winter's snow is driving me nuts. All i can do are quick washes because it's 20 degrees out for a high and it snows every 3 days. But in the summer, i'll go as far as taking the wheels off and cleaning the brakes and backside of the rims. My thoughts are that if you can see it, then it should be cleaned.

since you have a front plate, would you be willing to sell your tow hook cover?

I believe I looked at your profile. Where are you from? I could probably do that.

At the very moment, my car is at the body shop getting the bumper fixed finally (a different thread). I expect to get it back by Thursday. Let me grab it from the car before anything is solidified. How much were you thinking?
