maybe you didn't drive enough on it to trigger the light or it just adapted.

I think TPMS each sensor is on a certain channel. I know VW have 12 channels for TPMS but they are choosen randomly. TPMS resetting should be done for free in most cases. Just lie to them or take it in for an oil change and throw that in their. It doesn't require the tech to do anything put scan it and reset it thru consult.

If you go and tell them you swap out wheels and want it reset they will charge but if you act like it just happen they should do it as a courtesy. Well i know the VW dealership i worked for did it for free.

Thought so.

That's why I didn't take it to the dealer. I didn't feel like making an appointment to be screwed.

No, the warning light is supposed to come on right away when something's wrong. Likewise, it immediately turned off after the 2 rear original sensors were installed.

Is it possible that the system only needs one sensor to identity with? If so, can it self correct the other 3 sensors?

And while I appreciate the advice, I'm pretty sure the dealership would figure out that I swapped out the original wheels...since they'd be looking right at them.

i thought the sensors are activated when you go above 20mph, thats why it takes like 10-15 mins for the light to come on and then once its on it stay on. I dont think there is an immediate sensor. The signal and TPMS unit isn't that fast to pick it up. how ever i can be wrong about it because its things that i read and never confirmed.

you swapped wheels to OEM wheels... not too many people will notice. If anything say you bought it with those wheels as a add on.

Did the tire place reset the light??

You'd figure with TPMS becoming standard on all 2009 model vehicles, they would be equipped to install and service the sensors. I doubt they would want to keep sending customers to the dealer.

Does anyone know if tire change places have the ability to reset the light or is it still dealer only??
