Brakes Slight wobble

So, I've been a 2004 g35x owner (53,000 miles) for 2 days now and love it. However, when I accelerate from a stop, I notice a slight wobble, more so if I'm turning from a stop. It also occurs when I'm braking. I've read all the posts on brake problems and I'm just wondering if this is the beginning of the end for my brakes? Has anyone else experienced this issue and what are the typical signs of bad brakes/rotors, other that the obvious (not stopping).

My guess is that it's a warped rotor(s) or my cv joints are going bad. Has anyone here ever had cv joint/boot/axle problems? Any ideas/guesses would be appreciated.

-Casey

SO it wobbles when you accelerate and not when you are braking? There is a very slim chance that a caliper is hanging up but I doubt it. Problem could be a wheel bearing, tie rod end, cv joint. Jack the car up in the air one tire at a time and grab the tire in the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock position at the same time and push and pull on the tire, now do the same thing at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions. Do this to all 4 tires. If the tire wobbles excessively up and down than it is most likely a wheel bearing, if it wobbles side to side than an outer tie rod. Compare the two fronts and to each other to gauge what feels normal. On a last note check all your lug nuts to make sure they are tight. Report back your findings if you want.

Does the steering wheel wobble? or is it the car itself that feels wobbly?

Check your tire wear. See if you feel anything uneven or feathering.

That's my bet.

Still have warranty? Take it to the dealer and ask them if you can't figure it out.

Well, I took it to my local mechanic (who I trust, the dealership is a little over an hour away) and it was a combination of things. The rotors were warped and need replaced and the tires were worn from not being aligned correctly. My front driver side tire honestly looked like it was about to blow, it had basically started to crack. It seems that the tires were causing the wobble and the rotors just magnifying the wobble when braking. It all makes sense now.

Everything is getting fixed tomorrow, 4 new tires, 4 new sets of brake pads and 2 new rotors for $1044, personally I think thats a pretty good deal (tires were on sale). My old 97 Acura 2.2CL cost me about $800 just for rotors/brakes.

Thanks for the help.
