But you should measure to make sure of what you got.

Jeff, in the linked thread you listed 2 specs - 05+ and 06+... are they different? Maybe I didn’t read it correctly, I'm a little lost as to the info given... I was considering the non-brembo bigger (than 03-04) brakes - but lately have been leaning towards Akebono... but who knows how long it will take to get lighter rotors for the G37 kit (and at what price) so I'm considering 05+ again... so is there a difference in the two you listed in the thread?

The easy question is what year/model has the biggest non-Brembo brakes?

Yeah, the rotor and weight dimensions should say 05+ but I think I did that because I was measuring my own parts which came off of a 06 Z non-brembo. Refer to the 1st portion for info.

After the rotors and caliper upgrade infiniti did to the non-brembos, they stayed the same until 2008 and the introduction of the HR powered Gs and Zs. I don't have the specs on these non-Akebono equipped HR powered cars.

If I had to "guess" and it's a total guess, my opinion is this. If it's not Akebono, it's probably the same as the lastest upgrade. As they list the Akebono fitting all the way down to the 03 Gs. BUT it's only a guess.

You sure you don't want to go oem brembos on Racing Brake's 2pc? That would be the hot setup.

thanks for the clarification... negative on the OEM brembo - I priced them and its as more or more than aftermarket BBK... I've spent waaayyy too much in many other areas of the car - can’t justify 3K+ for brakes. and I don’t want to deal with a used set.

Understandable. Just a note if you need rotors for this setup. I was on Racing Brake's site. The list replacement rotors for the 05+. They list them at about 17lbs. While not as light as the stock 11.5" units, it's 3 lbs lighter than the stock 12.6" 05+ units. Just a thought if you need them. I was looking into this if I have to replace.

To answer the OP... From everything I have read in the past 10 minutes, the answer is that you WILL need the 05 calipers to go with the 05 rotors. Once you have a FULL set of 05 gear, everything will be bolt-on sweet goodness...

And now to add to the OP's question... If he can't afford the 05 calipers, what should he do for some upgraded front rotors to be able to keep his 03 calipers? (I ask becuase I am in the same situation)...

Depends on what you consider an "upgraded" rotor.

Drilling holes in a rotor looks nice, but it's not an upgrade. Slotted is somewhat debatable if the loss of mass justifies the "wiping slots" on the rotor.

As for what rotors/pads to get...depends on your goals
