windshield replacement

My windshield has a huge crack due to a rock so I need to get it replaced. Anyone know of a good aftermarket place for an 05' g35 in southern california? 2 dealers quoted me for around $1K.

Dude dealerships use outside glass company's to do their W/S and all that mark up is free money for them...SAVE yourself money a call some glass company's and get quotes, trust me I do auto glass and they will get competitive for your business.

Most car insurances will cover it and your deductible is a flat $100. Many glass repair shops will use windshields from totalled cars, which are better than the new ones since OEM standards are often higher for this part. But you have to specifically request OEM. This is one part not to skim on since it's part of the safety cage for the car.

You could get 2-3 windshields at a place like Safeco for that money
