Question: Will and 05/06 Rear bmpr cover, fit an 03/04?

I know I am always asking random questions, but I have to ask them to get them out of my brain...

Will a rear bumper cover from an 05/06 sedan, directly bolt-on to an 03/04 car?

I thought it did with the exception of the trunk pop button....

Who tried it with issues?

I assume you're talking about Heyitzalex. He is an 05+ sedan owner who swapped his for an 03-04 rear bumper for the nismo rear valence. He needed to mod the 03-04 rear bumper to accomodate the trunk release button because 03-04 sedans don't have it.

So in short, the sedan rear bumpers are forward compatible plug and play,

and backward compatible with slight mod.

why go thru the hassle of making a button when you can just use the remote...

well i was referring to the guy swapping bumpers... from nissan's stand point all cars have a button or some sort or a key, most are above the plate and more hidden. I think its just something they have to put on the car.

But if someone did a older bumper swap, why would there be a need. simple hassle of using the remote or opening it thru your inside of your car works just fine for me. hell i sometimes walk to my trunk and hit the button because force of habit on other cars.

i dont know....I guess it's an extra button for those that don't want to walk to the car nor use their key. If you've got it then why not keep it. It's just putting a hole in the 03-04 bumper I guess

besides the trunk button, you will also need to paint the little piece that is next to the bumper. on the 03-04 is is black plastic, on the 05-06 is is color matched. mudguards won't cover it up

Because with the Intelligent Key you never need to dig the fob out of your pocket, the car just knows it's you pressing an external button or twisting the ignition switch. I wish my house had it.

I have a friend who has one of those keyless locks for his house. There is a motor on the deadbolt with a remote that unlocks it. Pretty cool.

I've seen the keypad deadbolts at Lowe's before... never knew they made one with a fob... pretty sweet. even SWEETER, would be the intellikey idea of sensing that the fob was in your pocket and unlock the deadbolt as you reach for the handle!
