I bought another i-key fob on eBay because I broke the clips on one of mine. The fob I bought was used, so the key in it was already cut for a different car. I brought all three to the dealership yesterday to get the new one reprogrammed, which cost $55. MAKE SURE TO REPLACE THE BATTERIES IN THE REMOTE! Two of my remotes allegedly had low battery, so the dealership installed two batteries, at $17/each without consulting me. The same battery costs about $4 at CVS.

cliffs notes: you don't need the key cut for a new remote to work in your car, but it does need to be programmed by the dealership. I now have 3 working fobs, but only 2 have keys cut to my car.
