G35 Sedan Limiter

Is there a rev limiter on the 2004 G35? My wife had an interesting experince with our new G35 Sedan, that led me to ask this.

Thanks,
Bill

Yes our G's have rev-limiters. My Coupe's is set at 6600, and I think the Sedan's is same.

Also if you have 5AT you wouldn't be able to go past 6krpm on last gear unless you have reflashed ECU. I tested.

Re: G35 Sedan Limiter

depending on how accurate your tach is (not very usually), the limiter may not kick in until you see 6900 rpm (Mine cuts in right there, many times)

Now downshifting or missing a gear can cause you to see 8000 plus rpm if you arent careful in a 6MT as the limiter is a fuel cutoff.

Speed is limited to 145 mph (mine has been to 149 without activating yet) but again the speedo isn't the most accurate either

Re: G35 Sedan Limiter

Is this related to hesitation I detect (I think) when in 1st gear, (6MT) nearly floored and about to shift when ooomph, if I didn't know it didn't have a carburator I would swear the
float bowl sloshed or drained or something. First gear does not take long to redline but I am pretty sure I am not there when it occurs. And yes, sometimes depending on the road I maybe losing traction. Any tips on what I should observe more closely or just be satisfied with "things happen fast in 1st - besides there are 5 more!"

thanks
