Quote: I am also looking to paint my roof black, Like Calvin said, paint it, because if you wrap it and leave it on there too long and with intense concentration of sunlight beaming on your roof, it could bubble up and ruin the paint anyway.
Where have you ever heard of an actual case of that happening?

Several members have vinyl on their roofs and no one has experienced any problems to date as far as I am aware.

I prefer paint because vinyl will never offer the gloss and clear reflection that paint does. And when it starts to swirl (inevitable), you can't fill them in on vinyl. You can with paint.

Quote: IMO, don't paint OR wrap the hood or trunk. In fact, don't wrap anything. If you must do it, do it right and paint it.

Wait for the c/f hood/trunk that Mastergrade might come out with.
If you are sure of the look & are keeping the car long term, I agree.
Paint has more depth, higher gloss & can be buffed if necessary.

:edit:
lol beat me to it

I've talked to a couple vinyl and tint specialists when i was looking to get my roof wrapped but they recommended that i get it painted instead.

the second pic looks nice imo, but it's a coupe and it's white so i think thats y it works for that car. Im not sure how it would look on a silver sedan. Just wrap everything you want to do at first to give you a good idea and if your satisfied paint it afterwards to get that nice gloss and reflection.

Noobs, who ever told you won't you know doesn't know anything about vinyl. I was an apprentice at a vinyl/tint shop for the 4 years and I know for a fact you can have vinyl on a car for more than 6 years without any bubbling or paint damage.

As for the black trunk an roof. Ugly, BUT that's because you are asking for opinions. If you're into it and think it's going to look good, do it. It's your car so make it that way.

Just don't rice it out.....

Sorry man, I'm just not feeling it. Props though for wanting to be different. In the end it's what feels right to you. Our opinions shouldn't mean a whole lot. It's your car to play with.

If my car wasn't black already, i'd consider a black roof. I think it looks good when not overdone.

Black hood and trunk however is overdone. If you want to do a 2-tone them you need to not use body panels as te boundaries as it makes the car look like you crashed it and put on a primered hood because you couldn't afford to paint it. Instead, starting from a pinstripe and painting up looks better.

Agreed. I personally am not crazy about it, but that's my opinion. You've seen the pics so you know it doesn't look horrible. Run with it if you like it- it's your G...and then post pics after for us to talk about.

If you decide to paint the hood..I would follow the lines on the creases (middle part) and carry it down to the bumper. now about the trunk, I have no idea on what to do with it.

I'm getting mixed thoughts.. I might just go ahead and just get my roof painted on Monday.

And one more thing... I already have my tail lights smoked. I did it with the spray but i want to make them darker. Does anyone sell those overlays on this forum?? I would love to buy that ASAP.
