How loud are fan suppose to be?

Mine sounds like it is on full blast (no a/c with everything shut off) all the time. I tried taking a video but the sound is so distorted from my vid phone. Any idea how to check the fan?

What year G sedan? Which fan? What are the temps where you live right now? Are you certain the fan is on ALL the time or just in 1st gear time about 20mph?

If your fan is mechanical fan, CHANGE THE FAN PULLEY BRACKET SINCE THE BEARINGS PROBABLY WENT BAD AND SHAKING WHEN THE FAN RUNNING BEFORE ITS TOO LATE LIKE MINE AND COST ME A FORTUNE TO FIX IT. If u don't replace it asap the bolts that holding the fan clutch and pulley will fail and flew to your radiator and will be big mess.

I heard that noise and I ignore it and cost me close to $700 to fix it by my self. Just imagine how much dealer / added labor charge to it.

Also check your fan cluth bearings to hold the blades see if its also shaking badly.

Hope this help. More info go to infinitipartsonline.com for more detail and diagrams.

it's the fan clutch...i had the same problem as well..."tornado sound" was what i called it too...it was spinning so strong & powerful, it made a scratch on my radiator(luckily my radiator is fine)

a bad fan clutch will slow your performance as well...

good luck

you would need to get the fan clutch. it is the part in the middle of the fan blade. your fan blade is fine. you just need to get the fan clutch.

Really I thought this was normal. Mine does as well but I think it stops once my car warmed up when I was idle for that long.
how do you know if its a Mechanical fan or a normal fan idk.

Does warranty cover this? it should.
