I have no problems whatsoever with rubbing. I'm not sure what is going on with your car but in theory you shouldn't be having any rubbing.

Nice. I'm trying to find a set local but every guy with a set tells me their are MINT on the phone and then i show up and they are curbed to hell

Hey, I've thought about using that tire-size combination. How does it handle for you? I'm curious what the fender gap looks like in the front? Does it handle well? Someone had mentioned to me that having a narrower tire up front could cause understeering, but if the tread and suspension is good it should be fine imo. Being that you've seen gfreak's car which was essentially the same suspension, wheels and tires/sizes as mine, what would you advise as for appearance of your and his setup?

thx

I have an X slammed on H&R's and koni sport yellow's with 4 rear non-staggered coupe 19's all around without rolled fenders. You shouldn't be rubbing at all!!!

I've only had them on for the last week and a half. I haven't had much time to test them out since it snowed 6" yesterday. From what I can tell, they are performing way better than the Goodyear Eagle RS-A OEM tires that came on the car. They are also quieter than the stock tires.

Once I break them in I'll post a review on my experience.

Being that I have seen Jeff's (blklude98) setup, it really didn't look that much different than the 35 series tires we are running now. The front did look more beefier I would say, but not enough to notice a huge gap difference.

Personally, I think it's just a matter of what you are after. If you want a better looking tire that performs well with no rubbing... go 35. If you want something that you will get a bit more miles on go 40. I'm sticking to 35 though. The looks to performance ratio does it for me.

Front Gap

This might be a good comparison pic:

It's not much tire to protect the rims with both my front/rear tire sizes..but it still rides/drives nice.

Thks to u and g freak. I still have some time to decide on what to do.....I'm thinking that 40 series up front with the narrower width and slightly taller side wall might make for a quieter tire as it starts to age.....I will go no-drxl so I can side to side rotate too........Of course I may sell the 19s and put the 17s back on with some cheaper tires and slowly go back to stock as I get ready for my 08 vette............

Eventually, but it will probably be in 2 yrs at which point I plan on picking up a 2 or maybe 3 yr old vette with 20kmi or less. I'd love to keep both but it just would not make financial sense with insuring, registering, maintaining/repairing and washing. I love my car, it is so fun and reliable but I've wanted a vette since I was 10. Recently test drove an 06 and an 08 and OMG! Kind of feel guilty b/c my car has been so good to me but yet it's "not good enough" for me like I cheated on her during those test-drives

You better be careful with the "cheating". She knows what you're up to and you'll likely end up at the stealership spending a couple hundred dollars for some stupid repair as her revenge.

Damn Maxima did the same thing to me when I started looking for a G.
