I've seen a lot of these. needs a third brake light assembly. you might get lucky at a junkyard, or ebay.

you have to remove the rear parcel shelf.

remove rear seat bottoms, seat backs, seat belt anchor bolts, side trims, several various clips. lift up (there are two pressure clips holding the shelf down) and pull out.

a bit of a PITA... especially if you are a bigger guy. you'll get to know your backseats quite well

I bought the rear light assembly and went thru the trunk to replace it. no need to take out seats.

I bought it off a fellow member.

you know, I've tried that but never had any luck. I work against the clock so anything that saves me time makes me money ...

update: had a G come in with no 3rd brake light. you CAN access it through the trunk... however, a hole must be drilled in order to reach the right side screw.

-Word.

I do those with a long philips. Can get both screws in and out, no drilling required.

I just came from the stealership and was quoted $380 for this job... $120 was labor. I didn't even know the damn thing was out, but I sure as HELL am not going to pay $400 to fix it - sheesh!

PS Just to put it out there how ridiculous that is, I just bought a LED 3rd brake light for my Dodge RAM for $40.

I found a pretty good fix, just tint the back window, that way if the light works people see it and ur all good. If it decides not to work people dont know any better other than (other infiniti owners) since the tint covers the light so its a win-win situation... O and I found out with double limo you cant see it in the day even if it is working
