Double beep???

Today at work a G sedan parked next to me. It was an 05 or 06. When the girl locked her car I heard a double beep instead of the horn like usual. Any thoughts?

the double beep means the car is locked when using the black button by the door handle.

And I believe that ^ is only available for cars with the intelligent key. Came with the premium package on my 05 sedan.

Or it could be a aftermarket alarm system.

fluxcapacitor and blue dream are correct. I only use the button on the door to lock/unlock my car. comes in real handy when I'm carrying bags in one hand, and my 3-year old in the other. I ask him to press the button twice, and he does it every time.

This may be a dumb question, but would there be any way to get it to beep while using the key fob instead of sounding the horn? I have the intelligent key and use the button most of the time, but sometimes I use the key fob and actually like the beep better than the horn. Anyway, didn't know if there was an easy way to do this or not. Seems like it's just a matter of switching some wires around.

I'm interested in this as well. Hate the horn honk when locking doors esp late at night.

^ That's why I usually hit the master door lock button next to the window buttons when I exit the car. No need to reach for the key fob.

Pretty sure if you hold the lock and unlock buttons at once on the fob for 3 seconds it will switch modes and wont honk when you lock

Wow thanks foxx, that worked like a charm. No more horn honk! I'd still love the low volume double beep but I prefer no noise over the horn.
