I 've always wondered what's different about them. Mounting points? The shape seems similar and since the tail lights are interchangeable, would that allow me to put a 03-04 nismo rear add on plus bumper swap on my 05?

 

yes you can do a swap, but the 03-04 bottom portion are not painted (not a worry to you since you are using nismo), and also the 03-04 did not have a trunk button in the rear so a slight mod will be required to keep that feature on your 05+ sedan.

 

I believe trunk button is an option on 05+ too. My cousin used to have a 2003 G35 with trunk opener.

 

If you're talking about the doggy door......it's located inside the door handle....not next to the trunk lid.

 

Yes you can put an 03-04 trunk + Nismo rear apron on your 05 Sedan. heyitxalex has that combo on his 06 (or 05 I don't remember). You'll have to have the body shop cut out a hole on the left side of the bumper for the button to open the trunk.

^ no thats the 03-04 rear bumper with the nismo valence on a 05-06 sedan, I think the valance could fit the 05-06 bumper but would need modification. But i have a question is it just me is the actual shape of the 05-06 bumper more sharp and squaress?

 

Then again it isnt necessary to need the button for the trunk either too. If I decide to get the 03-04 rear with the Nismo, I wouldn't install the button, if permitted. If anything, get the rear Nismo and get it custom fitted.

I was thinking about doing this too (03-04 rear bumper with Nismo rear apron), but decided to go another route in the future. Where are you guys planning on buying your Nismo rear apron from? I thought they were discontinued and no longer available.

the whole kit is discountinued.....the last batches were on sale for cheap a few months back (CB color).

 

I talked to Tony @ Riverside Infiniti on Friday and he said that they still had Nismo kits available. He said that they weren't discontinued yet but will be some time soon.

 

what if i use a extreme dimension rear add on for the 03-04 bumper on my 05 bumper? can anyone photo shop ?
