Okay, I need some though/insight on what has been going on with my G35x
Recently in the last 3 months I've noticed my G hesitating to start up, though it does, just sounds like it wants to stall within seconds of turning the ignition. Well, on Wednesday I was heading out to lunch and I was attempting to beat traffic making a left turn, so I floored the gas and my G died on me, had to push it into the parking lot. It would start up and immediately die within seconds. So I had the G towed to a local Nissan/Infiniti Dealership, it was the airflow sensor, which needed to be replaced. Luckily it was covered under my extended warranty. (I have 69900 miles on my 2004 G35x) Well they mentioned my belts needed to be replaced so I had that taken care of also. When I picked my vehicle up on Friday, it started immediately. When I left my office again, it started up without any issues. On Saturday night I filled her up with high grade octane from Exxon, Sunday morning It started and immediately died, I started again, gave it some gas and it started. This happened several times throughout the day; luckily it started each time while giving it some gas. I went home and popped up the hood, checked the sensor, looks good, I just kind of pushed it in, just incase it wasn't in or something, I even started the car up while the gas tank cap was open thinking it could be a air flow thing going on in the tank or something. I started the G up after doing that and it continued to die out unless giving it gas, I then just let it sit there in frustration, planning my Monday to the dealership again...after about 3 hours, I started it up about 10 times without any issues. Hopefully whatever I did, fixed it. I am still calling the dealership in the morning, just incase...

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

So you're saying after you pushed the MAF sensor back in all the problems wnet away and it started fine?

It sounds like that was your issue, maybe it is wiggling it's way out? broken clip or something. Try wedging something in there to hold it in place and see if the problems come back.

The dealer wont be able to diagnose a problem they can't find. So you will have to bring it in when if/when the problem comes back.

Yep, I pushed...though it didn't move at all, who knows. I started it right up again just an hour ago, so hopefully all is well, I am going to call the dealership in the AM so they are aware. Hopefully it was just a small flaw

did they install a new air filter? this needs to be done with a new mass air flow sensor, along with an idle air volume relearn.

Sounds like your engine is having a hard time getting fuel. Maybe the fuel filter or injectors are plugged up? Do you always use Exxon gas or do you normally fill up with cheap stuff? Right after I bought my previous vehicle (F150) it started hesitating during WOT on the highway. The RPM's would drop way down like the engine wasn't getting any gas. It got so bad that the engine would start cutting out while driving sometimes. I changed my fuel filter and ran top quality gas through it and after a few tanks I never had the problem again. Anyway, I have no idea where the fuel filter is on a G, but they're usually cheap and easy to change.

I usually go to Exxon and get gas, I try to stay away from the cheap gas...
Day two after the stalls, so far so good. I noticed the engine is so quiet now with the two belts changed. Sounds like it's barely on, sounds new again

I did contact the dealership, I made the service manager aware, he said if it happens one more time, to bring it in.

I just had a similar problem and they found a failure in the fuel throttle body. Replaced it and did a "relearn" procedure + swapped out my aftermarket Amsoil performance air filter for an oem. Works great now!
