Question about 2006 sedan startup

I have the intellikey for my sedan and the ignition isnt a button.. its like a built in key that u turn

So... everytime i start my g its really loud and the rpm spikes p to 2500+ rpms where it gradually goes down to idling rpms under 1000

I just wanted to know if thats normal.. havent seen that in any other car... Got the car recently

Well, without seeing how it behaves personally, its tough to say if it's normal.

But all cars spike up in RPM when first started, but then they settle down to idle. If it's old out, they may stay up in RPM for slightly longer.

I'll check today when i start my car, but pretty sure it spikes to around 2000RPM when started

Checked my G this morning and revs to 2K and slows down to 1.5K RPM, so sounds about right.

It's normal, mine does it all the time. Mine is super loud in the morning since I have no muffler either. It's just the process of warming up.

All cars spike high when started. It mainly depends on how fast the starter can spin the engine and how much fuel/throttle the computer decides to give the engine.

Same here, initial spike to 2K, drops to 1500 almost immediately, then down to 1300 or so 10 or 15 seconds later (that's when I start driving), eventually settling in at around 700 idle. It's higher initially than any other car I've owned, and I wonder if people think I'm revving my engine to show off or something.

Rimlas, if you're eventually idling around the 700-750 mark, then you're fine. Oh, one more thing. Don't touch the gas before you start it. It's not necessary.

Well that's a different story. Can you take a video?

Is it the needle that isn't smooth, or does the engine RPM follow the needle's ups and downs?

I think I know what you mean and thats normal too..

Like you hit the gas, it goes up, hangs there for a sec and comes back down?

Yeah mine is at 1500 on the start, and then around 500-700ish around idle. Im going to take my car just to get it checked out overall, since the warranty is still intact..
