new g35 owner

hey my names aj. i am 17 years old and just puchased my 06 g35 sedan last week. this is my first "car" i have always drove a truck because i raced motocross but due to injuries, i decided to give that up and try my luck with cars. i have a few questions. when i first turn on my car the first turn i make, there is a sort of grinding noise.... not really grinding im not quite sure how to put it... anyone elses car do that? just wondering if i should have it looked at or if im just trippn and its normal? also i want to lower the car a little. looking at either the h and r sport springs or the eibach sport springs. which ones should i go with? lookin for a little better hanfling but dont want it to be unbearable for when hitting bumps or potholes. iv drivven a bagged truck since i got my lisence so im done with the ****ty riding when it comes to hitting bumps in the road. also would like to do intake and exhaust for now. any suggestions on what to go with for that? i also have a pionner flip out screen i would like to put in the dash of my g. is there some kind of kit i need to buy that replaces like the whole trim piece on the dash? im not quite seeing how it would fit wheere the stock stereo goes. not sure if im posting this in the right place or anything so i apolagize if i didnt. thanks for the help guys

OP, you need to take the time to search. We see threads like this almost daily that wouldn't be necessary if you had looked around awhile before you posted up your questions.

https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sed...edan-faqs.html

I'm watching the Laker-Nugget replay on ESPN instead of sleeping, so briefly:

1. I believe that you're referring to the ABS system self-check. Happens to me everyday after I start up and reach a certain RPM range. Completely normal if that's what you're talking about. If not, it could be your front compression rods.
2. There is a huge section on G35 suspensions. Look there. I went with 350z springs which dropped my 06 sport sedan 1" all around. Or you can go with aftermarket springs or coilovers. https://g35driver.com/forums/brakes-suspension-164/
3. There is a huge section on G35 intakes and exhausts. Look there. I've got a z-tube, coupe mid-pipe, and a HR y-pipe. Or you can go with aftermarket CAI's/exhaust systems. https://g35driver.com/forums/intake-exhaust-23/
4. There is a huge section on G35 audio/video. Look there. You'll need a double din kit for an aftermarket stereo. https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-v...lectronics-20/

Each of those sub-forums have FAQ's sticky'ed to the top as well as the sedan FAQ sticky'ed on top of this one. You should probably start off with the sedan FAQ.

You're lucky that Blue Dream didn't get to you first

But search, man. Seriously. And congrats on your 06 sedan. Great taste there

Wow, I'm honored to be immortalized after only 2 months on here. Thanks pnn for the props!!

Moving on to more serious things, pnn is exactly right. You will have sooo many questions that it will be impossible for us to answer all of them. Spend time reading through this forum, it's the best and most comprehensive source of information for the G I have found.

The search function can be very useful, but it can also be frustrating. Be patient and keep looking. You'll find most of the questions you have can be answered with a little bit of effort. We don't mind helping people out, we do mind laziness!!

Congratulations on your new car. Take care of it and it will take care of you. The G's are not perfect, but they're like the girl who's ***** are a little too small or butt's a little too big. Take time to get to know them and you'll fall madly in love with them despite the fact they're not perfect. Remember nothing is.

And pnn's right, don't give me a reason to pull out the

^ What he said. That search function can drive you nuts if you're trying to find a ****** of post you can vaguely remember.

Asking questions is always ok. Hopefully it's for clarification, though, and not spoon-feedin'!

But Blue Dream, how can a woman's *** be too big????

Don't make me link to some pretty scary pics. I would guarantee you will end up scarred for life.

I was going to make a not-so-nice reference to my ex-wife, but since I got on another member about being disrespectful, I think I'll just let that one die in my head.
