Re: WAI is it available for this car?
Short answer - yes, the popcharger and stillen airbox are versions of a WAI.
WAI/CAI has been debated numerous times...I personally have noticed more gains with my Stillen Air Box than with the Nismo CAI that I put on my Z...but these are two different cars with different aerodynamics...
WAI may actually pull cooler air than CAIs...the argument is that the air is hotter close to the ground because of the heat absorbed by the road. WAI may have faster throttle response as well and it is said that the stock airbox location on our cars is an area of high pressure, so the air can more freely enter the intake. But again, this has been discussed before so a search might be helpful...

I don't know why you would call the Stillen HiFlow AirBox a WAI.
It pulls in air from the same place as the stock box does. Indeed
it is open at the front, but when driving, any engine heat will not
be getting sucked in.

Graphite Leather, splashguards, HKS exhaust,
14 wire Grounding kit, 350Z duct, Stillen CAI
Underbody rear diffusers, Drilled alum pedals

Re: WAI is it available for this car?
Technically you're right, I just always considered WAI the same as a short CAI. But if we're being technical, you can't say "any engine heat"...some will always get in. But I'd think the Stillen would suck in air of the same or slightly warmer temp than the stock airbox since the bottom is open (it will just suck more of it)...or not?
Either way, I think Stillen or Popcharger (and Z tube) is the way to go.

Hmm, so the Injen isnt as good as the Stillen air box or pop charger Z tube? Injen claims 14.2 hp to the wheels and 12 lb ft of torque with a dyno sheet on websites but i dunno. Havent seen that from still air box or pop charger.

I've got the K&N Typhoon, which gives you 2 choices of settup.
This is the WAI settup:

The full length gives better performance, but renders a slightly rougher idle.

Re: WAI is it available for this car?
I have heard that CAI's are designed to perform on the dyno but not necessarily in real world situations. ie. on the road.
just what i heard, take it with a grain of salt.
