03-04 05-06 Head light question...

I've searched and I can't seem to find a definite answer, so I'm wondering if anyone knows the answer to this...

Will 03-04 g35 sedan head lights fit on a 05-06 sedan?

Specifically 05 sedan with xenon.

I see people list headlights as 03-04, 05-06 and some 03-06.

Any help is appreciated.

I'm pretty sure they are not interchangeable, but I'm not 100% on that. There were changes to the front ends between 04 and 05.

Thanks....I think.

There's definitely a change in 05, but did the head lights change? And would the 03-04 fit?

Found this in the FAQ thread below.

https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sed...edan-faqs.html

Exterior
-Doggy Door
2003 was the only sedan with Doggy Door rear trunk lid. The Doggy Door is nicknamed that because it resembles one. The "INFINITI" is smaller and contained only on that part. It also contains the trunk release switch. The 03.5 and 04 do not have a trunk release on the back of the car. It was brought back on the 05-06 in the form of a button under the driver side tail light.
-03/04 Have the grid style tail lights 05/06 Have the twin circles
-Starting in 2003.5 HID headlights were offered
- All the body parts in front of the doors changed. They do not swap between 03/04 and 05/06 unless you change everything.
-The Hood now has a single line down the center and a slightly different shape
-The headlights are also slightly different on the outside and have a different bezel on the inside-The grille is different
-The front bumper cover is different now painted all the way down with two larger openings on each side like the coupe
-The fenders are different to fit the new hood and headlights
-The side markers are the same
-The side skirts are now color matched
-The rear bumper cover is also color matched and is slightly more aggressive
-As mentioned above there is now a trunk release button under the driver side tail light.
-Different wheel style

There is a FAQ at the top of the sedan section!

I guess you didn't look "everywhere"...

Ha, no problem. I knew I had read it somehwere, but couldn't remember where. When in doubt, check the FAQ thread!

Thanks for the FAQ but that didn't really answer my question. The FAQ says :

" The headlights are also slightly different on the outside and have a different bezel on the inside"

Sorry to be tough, besides the slight differences, does it fit?

Slight differences doesn't necessarily mean the lights won't mount.

Just to give an example... 1998 civic headlights are different than 1999's, there are "slight" differences, but you can easily use 1999's on a 1998. (sorry don't mean to compare g35 to civic)

They'll work fine if you also replace your front bumper cover, fenders, hood, and grille...

I beleive the wiring is slightly different as well as the 03/04's did not use a dual-filament bulb in the turn signal as a parking lamp as well

the shape of the headlights are totally different, if you look at them for like a while, u'll see. u need to replace everything like what DOFU said. 03-04 headlights are much curvier and round edge, 05-06 u can see its more sharper.

I recommend getting the black housed ones. You can get them for 100-200 dollars on Ebay and even on Amazon. Believe it or not it makes the car look much classier.

Those ebay auctions are what raised so many questions for me in the first place. Many of them say 2003-2006. I didn't want to risk it so I purchased an original one from a 2005.
