Motor Trend Road Test

Infiniti G35 sedan is #1 again. It seems that every car magazine is rating the G35 above the rest of the competition... Check this out:

Re: Motor Trend Road Test

That was the most brutal online experience my pc has had in a while...even with Google's toolbar the 20 full or 3/4 screen attack pop up adds blitzkreiged me over and over again..and then IE crashed 4 times on page 8 of that article...aghhhhhh

Anyway, nice job G35...I actually have that article from a past addition...the G kicks *** in every performance stat except that by 100 mph the Acura TL is roaring by it...all that HP has to show up somewhere right. ;-)

Good article. All cars are autos, which is what the vast majority of people drive.

Re: Motor Trend Road Test

Here's what I don't get. It takes about 14.7 seconds to reach 94MPH in the G35s. I find it hard to believe it takes another 3.2 seconds for the car to accelerate another 6MPH to 100. Anyone have any insight on this? To add to the apparent discrepency, C&D, whom typically has the slowest acceleration times of the 3 major car mags, clocks the G35s at 16.5 to 100. That's 1.4 seconds quicker than MT.

Automatic shifts gears just before 100 mph.

Re: Motor Trend Road Test

Without reading the rest of the thread yet so excuse me if I am way off but IMHO...doesn't the G shift into 4th right around that speed...if so, this would cause that lag. Also, I used to think C&D had the worst times too, but R&T does and MT is neck in neck with C&D for the fastest...I get all three and I consistantly see that.

Re: Motor Trend Road Test

I haven't even made it to your second hyperlink yet but this quote is a classic..."The G35 Coupe is a worth competitor of the TL (despite it's shoddy interior and butt-ugly Shojin Temple tail lamps) but the G35 Sedan is a piece of junk.

BJ"

And this one is even better..."No way. No fuc*ing way.

The G35 was designed as a coupe. Two doors, luxo'd version of the Z. Very handsome.

The TL was designed as a sedan. Four doors, luxo'd version of the Accord. Very handsome.

The G35 Sedan? That's a frankencar. Add a few inches, add a couple of doors, ruin the balance, throw off the symmetry. It's a mess.

Its one thing to design a four-door sedan, take off the doors, lower it, make it sleeker, and call it a coupe. Its another thing entirely to design a two-door sports coupe and puff it up into a family truckster. Its frankencar.

BJ"

What a Donkey this Blow Job guy is...LMAO at his convictions towards a car everyone loves and wins almost every comparison it's in and dynos and runs the 1/4 mi in the same time as the 350 Z and the Coupe +/- a tenth or two and some mph....Unreal.

BTW, do you see how nice their forum format is format-wise, but what a bunch of immature, name calling, one way or the highway imbeciles...

Want to get rid of all those annoying pop up's & browser hijack? Use Mozilla's Firefox from mozilla.org. It's fast, pop up free & immune to spyware.

Back to the article, that is an excellent review of the G35, but where is the rear spoiler? Is that an option in the US? The 5-spoke wheels are part of the Aero package here in Canada and so is the spoiler. Any thoughts?

Re: Motor Trend Road Test

Aero package can be ordered with or without the rear spoiler in U.S. - 5 spoke wheels come standard with Sport Package and are not in any way "tied to" the Aero Package. All 6-speed MT's in U.S. comes standard with Sport Package (and therefore have 5 spoke wheels), and Sport Package is optional on Automatics.
