Why not make it an all G35 meet with sedans on one side, coupes on the other?

I don't think I've ever heard of a meet excluding either sedans or coupes.

This was going to just be a sedan photoshoot. Now that we are talking a meet too it's open to all VQ's.

For those that don’t know the history of how this GTG started – let me explain… first of all, its not a “meet” (or at least it wasn’t intended to be)… it’s a “Sedan Photo Shoot”… it started from this post: In this thread (read from post # 629): https://g35driver.com/forums/media-s...thread-42.html

I had a feeling it would turn into an issue… and based on several posts it seems it has.

This should stay as a Sedan Photo Shoot and not a meet… there are other meets coming up (OC meet in August and BBQ apparently coming up) – we don’t need another big meet. For those that are recommending locations – remember, this is not another parking lot meet – the local needs to be photogenic.

If this ends up being something other than that, I’m out.

Sorry, I’m not trying to be a d!ck – but its getting a little strange that a bunch of sedans cant get together for a photo shoot without issue.

 

I think I am to blame for this. I misunderstood and thought the desire was to plan a photoshoot and then to have a meet. There are a number of guys in the area who I have always wanted to meet and chat with so was hoping this would be that opportunity.

I thought the goal was to do a photoshoot and then have a meet or sorts. Is there any reason it has to be one or the other?

 

if you guys dont wanna invite me just let me know, I'll just weld in my 2 rear doors and become a coupe crowd! MMMKAY?

 

Tim, the “meet” issue started sliding in from several directions after I mentioned this:
I said that because we were realizing that there are a few others (besides mentioned in the initial post about photo shoot) that should be included… I should have just shut the hell up and let it be a small shoot… So – no, it’s not your fault at all.

As far as having both, a shoot and a meet – I think they should be separate… same weekend, or even same day? Whatever... but I think the Sedan photo shoot should be a separate event… trust me, there have been plenty of big events with photos taken (by the good photographers) and its just too many cars and too many people and not enough time to get good dedicated pics.

I’m not telling anyone what they can and can’t do… I’m just clearing the air for the coupes that feel slighted… it was originally intended to be a photo shoot for a half dozen custom sedans. If that has now changed to another meet – then its now a meet.

 

I say we(group of modded sedans) meet up 1st(just us), do our shoot, then roll out to another location for the "open to all" meet together. that's if the shoot's gonna be in the morning, if it's gonna be evening then we hit the big meet early roll out and roll out together to the sedan shoot... cool??? problem fixed.

OR

same weekend 2 days is good too, Sedan shoot/meet & greet one day, BIG meet the next.

I agree on the separate shoot. That was always in the back of my mind as the plan. Chris and I were talking about early am on Saturday for the shoot before the sun gets out too much.

The shoot is priority #1 and the meet is just for fun. Even if the meet was just for a few hours in the late afternoon or something?
