Few questions about my new 03 6mt sedan...
I decided to go with an 03 6mt sedan. I love the car very much but I am just wondering how it compares to the 05/06, which has about 40hp more. I've been told that Infiniti's hp ratings are not accurate. In terms of straight line acceleration, would I feel a difference on the "butt dyno"?
Here's the info:
2003 6mt sedan
51k miles
silver
new tires 5k miles ago
spoiler/alloy wheels (no navi, no heated seats)
no paint work, very clean int/ext
paid $13,000 from a dealer. Do you think I got a good deal?
One more question: Why doesn't the clock light up? Is it supposed to? Annoying at night, cause I have to look at my cell phone to see the time lol
THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Welcome to 'driver
I'm not so sure u got the best deal, but 6mt sedans r pretty rare, and u got 1 with fairly low millage, so assuming it hasnt been in any wrecks, i think u got a decent deal
u proly would feel a difference in a rev-up sedan
Im not sure if the clock's supposed to light up

Lol, yeah your clock is supposed to light up the second you turn on your lights. So that means your bulb is burned out, and to be honest, you should have shopped around for a bit longer. That's a decent deal not the greatest but alright because i just purchased my 03 g35 6mt sedan about 3 to 3.5 months ago for the same price but mine had 78,000 km which if i am not mistaken is about 48,000 to 49,000 miles, heated seats, navigation, alloy rims with the summer tires and an extra set of rims with winter tires all included in the price at the infinity dealership. But mind you I also spent about 5 to 6 hours bargaining to get it to that price because the guy originally wanted $16,500 for it.
^yea, i got my '03 5AT with <42,000 miles and every option except for navigation for $11.5k
still, he didnt get a bad deal
btw, that Canadian money or American?

I was just being honest, he should have just shopped around a bit more and he could have gotten a better deal. But it's still a decent deal because of the fact of them being rare in 6mt and the low miles. And it $13,400 Canadian
Condition of the paint and interior would really be the decider of the price, the engine and trans are pretty good every year, unless you get a bad '05/'06 with oil consumption issues.
The interior is in mint condition, I checked it from top to bottom before i even bought it. The only thing was that the exterior was full of swirls and a half and some minor scratches. But after I bought it, I buffed the crap out it that it looks like as if it just repainted. The only thing thought for now is to fix a deep scratch that is about a foot long behind my rear door ( thanks to my sister and her f***en umbrella ) and I need to change the gas door lid because it's bent and a little rusted but that stuff is minor. On the engine and trans part its fine not a single problem so far.
i've test driven a few 05/06 M6 sedans with the thought of upgrading. to be honest i was dissapointed with the acceleration. i expected a noticeable difference with "40" extra horses. i hardly felt any difference, if anything mine felt quicker when i got back in. i goosed mine a few times just after driving an '06 last week and i swear mine felt quicker. of course i can't prove this without data but that's my butt dyno.
i did prefer the '06 interior & wheel pkg, painted sills & front bumper. but there is not a noticeable 40hp difference. i believe the rev-up gains its power high in the rpm band, and it's actually down on low end torque compared to the DE non-rev.
