Thinking of picking up an 2005 g35x, Need your help.

I have searched guys but I need your opinions since you are the guys who drive these cars day in and day out!

Hi guys I used to own like a 93 94 95 2002 Nissan Altimas, Then I totally switched to subaru, owned a 2006 wrx and now own a 2008 STI, I need you advice on purchasing a 2005 G35x.

This car will basically be for my girlfriend and me, and I like to basically mod cars so here are my questions.

Cobb Acessport 03-05 Sedans works with the g35x ecu ?
03-05 G35 sedan springs example wise EIBACH work with the g35x?
Exhausts lets say greddy EVO 2 does it fit the G35x?

I think this vehicle is AWD and thats why im asking your advice basically will G35 mods work on the G35x ?

Let me know guys help greatly appreciated.

Another thing how does the G35X transmission hold power ?
I know an oil cooler is necessary for the tranny and maybe a VB upgrade.

What I probably would like to do,
Header
Catback
Intake
Cobb AP
Plenum spacer

Maybe in the future
Stillen Charger

Another question do the 04/05 have oil burning issues? I remember my 02 altima used to drink oil hopefully I wont run into the same problem.

cobbs acessport will work

spring i dont think so

exhaust yes, but get something else different. greddy sucks, i got r34 skyline's tanabe hyper medallion

lets say this, 2wd mods wont do the same for awd mods, alot of stuff are different: sizes. angles, and etc.

Header
Catback
Intake
Cobb AP
Plenum spacer
these are piece of cake to get and put on, headers will do u time, and for HFC, u will have to find one for the g35x or just custom ur own, i custom my y-pipe, exhaust and cats(test pipes)

after ur done with the list, jump onto the supercharge, but make sure stage 3 by vortech. lol

oil burning, always a problem no matter what, i feel that 04 has more power than 05/06 dont know why, but sorry people that are offended, just IMO.

Oil burning is only an issue on 6MT's. The X will be 5AT. As for springs, there's a sticky about lowered X's.

I would say if you dont need the AWD, then dont get it... In the northeast it is nice since it seems that every year the plows go by less and less frequently. The AWD is not going to get quite as good gas mileage as the RWD, so if you are on the road alot, that is just something to consider.

There are not as wide of a selection of exhausts for sedans as there are for coupes, and even fewer that will snake around the transfer case, etc on the AWD...

like Buckeye said... check the stickys at the top, there is an exhaust sticky and 2003-2006 Sedan FAQ sticky

also consider... alot of the 2006s are still under warranty, depending on mileage, so there is still time to fix some of the little squeeks and nuances that the previous owner might have neglected

i thought i was the only one thinking that awd uses more gas than the 2wd. lol
i can drive and lose about half a tank in less than an hr, and just driving from one little city to the next. about 15min drive,. lol

I live in NY and I think AWD for my gf and I is a must. Like I said I own a 2008 STI and I completely love the AWD grip.

Im just worried about the auto transmission since I would like to use some type of FI on this car. Im starting to find more and more interesting stuff on g's.
