Went to see the G35X last night at a local dealer up here in Toronto.
Not a bad car...will get to drive one next week if I have the time, but in the meantime I have some questions...

- The Sales Manager was telling me that the white pearlescent exterior paint is an extra - about CDN$250 or something like that, whereas the sales brochure says that Inifiniti does not charge extra for special colours...Is the Sales Manager pulling my leg or is the literature not up to date?

- Sport suspension...not available on the X version. Has anyone swapped it from the other models? If so, any problems?
I'm not even sure I want it since I have not yet driven the car, but just in case the thing handles like a barge...don't want to go to Eibachs or other aftermarket bits if I can help it.

- Talked briefly about the 2005 model...the Sales Manager is uncertain as to how much more it's going to cost over the 2004 model - he was thinking out loud that it may be as much as CDN$4,000 which he admitted would be kinda high...anyone have a clue what Infiniti has in mind for the price increase?

- Speaking of the 2005 model, he was also telling me that the only difference will be cosmetic (colour matching lower body panels), and a 10HP increase. He doesn't know of any other changes.
Does anyone here have a more detailed list of changes? I'd be curious to find out if the sport suspension will be available as an option on the X model.

- I'm not sure if I should buy the 2004 model or wait for a few months to get the 2005, hence the questions. Hate like Hell to buy the 2004, and find out that there is more to the 2005 than I was lead to believe...

There are several posts regarding the 05 and it appears to be a major interior jump(quality) some body changes and aHp jump but I asked my dealer and they were mum on the changes..."we'll have to wait and see what the final product is" So if you do a search you will find more.

With the sales pitch that you got it sounds like the dealer wants to sell you a 2004. There is no increase in cost for the colour. The over all price increase for the 2005 is minimal. I ordered a 2005 model (Canadian) using the 2004 pricing.

The dealer does have a complete list of what the 2005 Canadian changes are. If I were you I would talk to another dealer if you want a 2005.
