Feeling Slow, Advice

Installed mods in sig below. 0-60 mph is the only test I've really done, result 7.0-7.2 seconds, tested about 4 times. Should be more like 6.0 seconds right?. What could be wrong? 2005 sedan only 13k miles, clean and feels good but clocks slow.

After stomping the gas, feels like there is a little lag maybe a quarter second...not sure if this is normal or if there should be immediate take off. No, I'm not spinning the wheels upon start or using manu-matic shift. Thanks.

Thanks, I know. Waiting for HFC's first. But still seems to slow w/o tune or HFC. Guess I'll just have to try those when funds are ready.

Did you turn off the VDC? If the VDC detects slip it will cut the power on take off.

How are you gauging it? I would look to get a dyno or run at a track. Use the dyno more for checking in dips of power or out of whack a/f than peak numbers. The mph of the track could be telling as well.

5150DS, maybe I'll try that...VDC was on. Sloppymax...gauging with simple stopwatch, I know, not accurate but still. What does a dyno usually cost? Might need to wait until HFC's installed in a few months if expensive.

I typically go on dyno days, you have to wait in line but can save a decent amount over the normal cost. I have paid anywhere from $30-$60 for three pulls with a/f on two sepearte dynojet 248s. Those shops typically charge around $85 normally.

Just go to the track. Cheaper and will give you an easy way to decide if something is wrong.

Hot and humid summer conditions, heat soaked engine, reduced low end power from the TD exhaust, and stop watch timing all could be culprits. Timing yourself doesn't really work because you really don't know when you've truely reached 60mph. I know that in my car, the speedometer lags a bit, sometimes by as much as a second. Example: I go WOT from 40mph to 60mph. When I let off, the speedometer still climbs for almost a second after I let off. I let off at an indicated 55mph, but the speedo climbs to 60mph before falling back. There's no way the car can keep accelerating when letting off the gas unless I was going down a insanely steep grade.

Alright thanks guys. Maybe I'll hit a track (never been) and check it out. Stopwatch time yourself is no good...but was consistent for 4 runs. Now to find a track in Dallas area to do this.

Surprised no one asked this but do you have aftermarket wheels?

No on aftermarket wheels. K&N is 2 days old, spark plugs 4 years old but only 13k miles.

I'm with DaveB. slightly innaccurate spedometer, heat soak, etc.. I'm sure your car is performing just fine. Feeling slow is probably all in your head. Your mods aren't really gonna do much for your 0-60 time, but you're probably .1 to .2 seconds faster in the 1/4. I wouldn't worry about it at all.
