Messed up front spindle nut

Messed up front spindle nut
On my 04 g35x I was attempting to fix a small leak where the drivers side front axle connects to the diff.
Needless to say I ended up stripping the threads that hold the axle to the hub. And now the bolt is stuck about halfway on. (I broke my 3/4 drive snap-on breaker bar working on that nut)
I'm trying to find out if that nut also holds the hub to the spindle. Since the rwd style hub doesn't have that nut, I don't think that it does. At home I'm limited on tools, and since I absolutely can't get that nut off I'm going to need to take it to a shop.
I need to know if its safe to drive to a shop. I'd rather not have to get a flat bed to tow me.

I had the same thing happen to me on my Maxima when trying to replace the half-shaft. The dealership simply put a killer impact to it which striped the entire length the thread shaft. Unfortunately, you're going to have to replace the half-shaft now. I'd try and source a remanufactured one and have it ready. I think you should be okay for a short drive to the dealer. I'd also recommend yanking the AWD fuse to make your car RWD. I'd also get underneath the car and give the half-shaft a yank to make sure it doesn't want to slide out and not make any really tight turns.

you must of really cross-threaded that on there good to break a breaker bar.
It never occured to you that if you cant get that on freely with a 1/2 in ratchet you should stop?
i've had that problem many times with CV axles on FWD cars. the threads get messed up from people hammering on the end to pop the axles out, they either mushroom the head so you cant get the nut on to begin with or miss and damaged the threads 1/2 way in. remove the nut if you can and look at the threads, you might just need a thread chaser/filer to repair the threads if they are damaged. But in most cases, i would get the axle of its only about $100.
