06' G35x New Transmission

Hi everyone, well here in AZ the temperatures get up around 115 in the warm summer months and that is when I noticed my issues. About one month ago I noticed in manual mode that I would get a slight judder when shifting from 2nd - 3rd with light acceleration and a hard shift under heavy acceleration. To make a long story short after 4 trips to dealership and test drives later I am getting a new transmission valve control or something like that (main electronic part of tranny that controls shifts) and a new transmission next Tuesday.

As my car is just shy of 60k, anything else I should be looking for? I know I have powertrain warranty for 10k more miles, but hopefully this is it.

The only other things I noticed are clicking noises from the wheels all around car when shifting load on and off of drivetrain and pre-mature ABS when abrupt stopping at a light with no sand. The ABS issue seems to have gone away, but has me paranoid.

Thanks for your input.

The 2-3 shift prob is common. A lot of guys have complained of a hard shift when in manual mode. Mine thuds into 3rd as well. I don't use manual mode too often though (no clutch, no care) so i forget. Let us know if it fixes the issue

At first they told me the hard shift was a hard sell for a new tranny since all bets are off in manual mode. Then I told them I was also have a pretty good judder from 2nd-3rd when it was hot. That is what got them to replace it, but it would do it when it feels like it. I finally got it to judder with the tech in the car.

It will also do it in drive, but it would only happen through normal driving so I couldn't force it to happen in drive. They first replaced the Valve assembly or something and then since it was still doing it they are now putting the tranny in.

2nd-3rd-3rd-4th "jutter"

had that (vvvvvv shift vvvvvvv shift thunk WTF?) since i got the car. That very day I was looking for a fix. Stillen has one or so I hear...Check out this link. I don't know anyone who got this personally but I have heard one or two owners say its helped them alot and speeds up the shifting too... from what i hear not only is it normal, I'd be more suprised if you said you didn't have it.

Might be willing to send them mine to do when the warranty is up...good luck

are you seeing something i'm not there? i see nothing for an X in specific... when you simply select "g35 4door" you get an ominous sounding "There are no parts available for your selected vehicle." message...

could be don't know. what year??? could be they haven't tested it on a new one...mines an 06... if i enter it go to performance and then trans its the first thing i see...
It’s the Transmissions Throttle body replacement. program, you take yours off send it to them they modify it. It’s not just the X that does the thunking thing... I'd call them if you're willing to pay 700 for it...the people I have talked to have all claimed smoother shifts. you just asked if anyone knew anything about the rough shifts. I know that this thing works. If you're that interested call them and ask but i doubt the t.t.b. is dif in the x. could be though. had mine for a year now and its fine. still does that but i found letting off a tad smooths it out with out loosing much speed

I thought I had posted an update before, but the new tranny is in and it is like butter now. I do still get a tiny hard shift between 2nd to 3rd under power but no jutter. They just need to do a small alignment with tranny and shift box as the gears or off a little. When I put car in reverse it doesn't clear the saftey lockout unless I pull back on shifter. Otherwise everything is great with the tranny.
