Trunk release short= wipers, brights and other dash controls out of control

I'll try to keep this short, but I need some help.

Spilled a little coffee that ran into the heated seat switches this morning. Drove and parked the car for several hours. Started it back up and drove 15 minutes and wham...brights, wipers, turn signals all go wild and out of control.

After some poking around here I read about the trunk release switch causing issues. If I depress the slide and hold it down for the trunk release everything acts normally, when I let off the slide its straight back to crazy town.

Where do I start trying to track this down? Was the coffee a coincidence, its also been raining pretty steadily here?

Any help will be much appreciated.

I would start by removing each of the switches one at a time and then plugging it in to see what stops it, just to bring the heated seats back into the picture. Whatever stops it is a path for trouble shooting. I don't know if the heated seats are on the ciruit path for the other problem, but since you had an oops, don't rule them out.
