Do you guys leave the Registration / Insurance cards in the car?

Hi,

Just wondering if you guys keep the Registration / Insurance cards in your wallet or you just leave it in the car?

The reason I am asking is my wife and I share our second car (Sentra) and I need to remember to hand her the Reg / Ins card that I keep in my wallet. I don't have an extra copy of the Registration Card. I've thought about photo copying one but not sure if that's legit if you get pull over.

I am thinking of leaving it in the Sentra but is it bad? Let's say (fingers crossed) if someone steals the car and gets pulled over, then he/she can just say the person on the Reg/Ins is his/her friend?

Thanks...

I am almost forced by the State of CT to leave my reg. in the car. It's almost a 8.5"x11" heavey paper that would never fit in your wallet.

you can always put it where it would be not easy to find.

So when the cop pull the "Thief" over and asks for the papers it will be noticeable for the cop that the person don't know where they are. So the next question should be.........is this your car? No.........I borrowed it from a friend.............What's your friends name?.........AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAA........BUSTED.

Ok, next question then. Where do you store the Reg/Ins cards so it's kinda hidden from others? Definitely not the Glove Box. Console? Sunglasses holder? Side Pocket?

Surprised so many people leave it in the car. I guess maybe in NY, people are more cautious of cars breaking in/stolen and taking your cards with your name/address/identity on it.

put it inside the first aid compartment if you want. 99% of the general public who doesnt drive a G SEDAN will not be able to find it.

It's gonna be somewhat hard to access when you're pulled over though, you dont wanna be seen "reaching" for thigns when a cop walks up to your window.

I just keep it in my glove box, I also don't live in fear of getting things jacked all the time either, it's nice to have a peace of mind.

Haha...reaching to the rear console and taking that package out, is a no no when you get pull over. I swear I've read it from either this forum or somewhere that someone mentioned that the first aid kit area would be a good area to store a GUN.
