Need a guesstimate...

... as to how much money I should put aside...

I have a 2004 G35 Sedan 6MT currently sitting in heated storage back home, while I am away serving my country. I purchased it Jan '09 for $13k CDN with 131k km on it.

As it stands, the car runs very well, but there are certain things that I would like to do when I get back, that I didn't see any point in doing before I left for 10.5 months.

First off, the stuff I know about:

a) crack in the windshield, split on passengers side, drivable, but needs replacing
b) front right compression rod is spent, needs replacing (Nissan mechanic took me under the car to show me)
c) SES light came on, can't remember the code, something to do with the exhaust system, some canister near the rear wheel well, been awhile since i researched the code. Odd because I cleared the code, definately did more than 10 starts without it coming on, probably in the vicinity of 50 or so, and right before I put it in storage, it came back on (maybe the adaptive learning system is THAT intuitive and understood I was leaving it for a while, or maybe there IS something wrong)
d) rear brakes have new rotors and pads, serviced a week before I left, but they said the front ones need servicing
e) tires are probably at 25% life, so those need replacing
f) would like to consider moving up to 18" OEMs instead of my stock 17"s, use my 17"s as winter rims
g) to the best of my knowledge, this car belonged to a wealthy family, that let their son use it somewhat recklessly, as evidenced by the plethora of tickets I managed to find stashed away in the owners manual pouch, I thought the clutch was unusually stiff, and having read that these cars tend to have a high engagement point I shrugged it off, but I'm thinking some clutch work is necessary
h) the car has about 144k km I think (it's been 4 months since I've seen it in anything other than old pictures, and I don't have the receipt from the storage place handy). Since I have owned the car, it has only been serviced at the local Nissan for oil changes, and a belt replace, and the Infiniti dealer near my parents for the brakes. I only use 91 octane fuel or higher, and only full synthetic oil... will be switching to royal purple when I get back... having said all that, I can not assume that the previous owners were so diligent with their service schedule, so I will assume the car is due for a full tune up, all fluids, spark plugs, belts etc.
i) as it stands the car is completely stock, except is has a K&N drop-in, I was looking to do the Z-Tube, rev-up airbox upgrade while I am at all of this
j) lastly, there are some nasty deep scratches on my bumper cover, pretty deep, how hard do you think it would be to find an oem DG front bumper cover for an 04? I would love to nismo aero kit my car out but that's a big investment in a 6 year old car that will probably be replaced within the next 3 years...

Interior is great, sunroof a little noisy, but no hesitation, leather still good, seat still firm, stereo functions well, although I wish the sub would kick more, seems like all the bass is coming from my doors...

Can anyone help me out with a rough estimate as to how much you think this may cost me? I realise there is a lot to look at, but hopefully I'll give someone who is bored something to do...

Thanks!

Depends who does the servicing.

I think I had the same deal as C) when I bought my car. The dealer charged a little over $300. Compression rods are $200 each. Front brakes, including pads and rotors are ~$200 without labor. Check if you have glass coverage through your insurance provider. Front bumpers can be found very easily, they are $380.

I bet the compression rods just need new bushings which you can get for $40 for both of them. You can press them in or get them pressed in for $60 at the dealer.

Front rotors/pads depends on what you get...you can get the set for $150-$400.

Glass if not covered is probably $300-400 installed.

Flush clutch fluid $50.

Repaint front bumper $300-400.

intake upgrade $80-100.

so, $1000-1500 depending on which route you go...Less if you do some work yourself.
