Yes, 05/06 splash guards can fit an 03/04

I've always been a fan of the nicer looking 05/06 splash guards, especially the rear guard since it extends nearly the length of the rear rocker. Though the guards were made for the 05/06, I had a suspicion they could be modified to fit the 03/04. The only real changes to the 05/06 on the rear bumper area is the shape of the lower rockers. They're inlayed a bit differently. Recently I caught wind that http://infinitipartspeople.com/ was selling the entire black 05/06 splash guard kit for $60 shipped. I figured what the hell. It's only $60.

Last night I recieved the guards. The only modification needed to fit the rear guard is to take a razor blade and cut out about 1/8" to 3/16" of material from the inner vertical edge of the guard where it lays up against the body panel and rocker. The material cuts very easily. This allows the rear "wing" to fit more flush as it extends to the rear of the car. The furtherst rear attachment point on the guard won't work because there's not enough material on the bottom edge of the rocker to attach it to. The easy fix is to just add a little more 3M super sticky automotive tape. The front guards fit with absolutely no modification whatsoever.

Please excuse the quality of the photo as I've got a black car and I have to brighten the picture a lot in order to get the guards to clearly show.

Very nicely done Dave. I have an 03 but I guess this doesn't apply to me because I went with the 05 rear bumper already so they should work stock (just gotta buy some now )
Helpful info for a lot of people though, they sure look a lot better than the 03-04 ones!
You may want to ask Tim (ttrank) if he wants to add this info to the Sedan FAQ Sticky.
