But I really like the idea of trying something totally different... either try it, or keep thinking outside the box for something unique - I have a feeling you will do something cool

White would be better than red accents. I've seen red on black work really well on a STi and a Golf GTI, but never looks good on a G35 (Coupe or Sedan) to me
I say try it on really small stuff first (like the decals) the trick will be the front decal because it's black and chrome on the same part, and you have to make sure the black part stays black, if you paint the entire emblem white it will look dumb:

in my opinion white accents on a black car woudl look awful and very tacky. Either stick with stock chrome features or keep it blacked out like you have.

Turns out the guy that guy's grille wasn't done when that pic was taken, he did do the inside black, that was when he had white epoxy primer on it, that's why the grille wasnlt installed on the car when he took that pic. Today I did the inside of my emblem black as well, it was all gunmetal before, looks better now

Someone with ps skills should do it on his pics so he can get and idea of why it won't look right.

If anything I would go for the black/chrome look; like your wheels. See if you can get someone to chrome the grille border and paint the middle gloss black with a chrome emblem. Keep the headlights black with the reflectors chrome and. Debadge the trunk, except for the chrome Mt. Fuji, then get your tail lights back to red. I would also paint the calipers silver and put some gloss black Infiniti stickers on them or the opposite; black calipers with chrome Infiniti stickers.. The silver will contrast with the black spokes, but not stick out so much like the blue. http://www.xenonmods.com/xenonmods_infiniti_items.htm

He has a long thread of his transformation is pretty interesting, he got the car from salvage for so cheap and restored it himself and now it looks sick. If u have the time you can goo thru all 20 plus pages lol. Is on the latest page of the media share coupe section, the title says (not your average noob with megaposts) or something like that. My camera gave out on me, time for a new one, I'll see if I can take daytime pics with my crappy phone tomorrow

Thanks dude. Here's the emblem as it should be painted:

Sorry your camera bit it, but it was about time, it kinda sucked

You should replace it with this!

$550 for a D3000 isn't too expensive.

I'm I not helping?

Ok then, buy a used D70 or D70s. That's what I have. I would take it over any point-and-shoot even a brand new one.
There's a D70 on ebay right now for $260. The camera and lens are having trouble communicating, but it could just as well be the lens.
or better yet:
http://cnj.craigslist.org/pho/1436117630.html
That's like an hr or less from you, and includes a flash and it's the D70s (slightly larger screen and better firmware)

being different will yield you one of two results:

1) Completely awesome!!!

2) Completely gross!
