Why? BEcause some people are judged by the size of the wheels on their car..and nothing else. I think it looks very disproportionate and makes the car look silly, but that's my opinion. I'm sure there are some people looking at that video thinking to themselves "That looks hot i want to do that!"

It's just very disapointing...I live in Texas "The we can make any car Ugly capitol" I have seein some Ugly sh**..A half baby blue half yellow dodge magnum,It even had 24 inch blue rims!..I once saw a Chrysler 300 with 30's on them "Southern term is a DONK".The Best part about seein that car was when His rim went flying off on I-35 and he just went skidding across the freeway lol....I just never figured it would make it to the G ;-(((

When you can pick up an 03-04 for like $10k, they aren't going to be in the financial position to buy anything other THAN ugly eBay level **** for their cars. Or they just plain have no taste, like the Magnum/Charger crowd.

Sad but true, if I wasn't in grad school right now I'd keep my G35 the way it is now and put my time in modding another car. Too many ricers and people rocking fake vents and Rotas these days.

It's sad to see some of the G's going in that directions and Im happy he took it down.I think it had part in the fact that people were flamming it pretty hard.I just don't know why people do it to cars..I have a GSR and I know its a rally car! Not a Drag Car not a Sports car.A rally car lol...

Only time will tell how bad it gets with prices falling daily!Lets just hope that when it gets there..The G survives a little without being torn up to much.

It happens to every car some day, just take a look at BMW E46 boards these days, their users are saying the same thing.

You always have the first wave of modders that buy their cars new, put quality parts on it, pioneer tuning/FI via trial and error, etc. Then you have next wave two or three years later that really put this information and wider aftermarket support to good use to make some amazing cars.

And as these people start petering out to trade up to something better and newer, you get people picking up these cars used for substantially cheaper that do not have the funds or vision to mod a car properly. This is the phase the G35 is at right now.

In another two or three years these people will move onto the next "deep discount car" and only the diehard G35 fans that put too much money into their cars to not keep it forever will be left.

It really comes down to finances. The typical ricer with $10K is gonna say "Hmm, why should I get a civic or a accord when i can get a 280/298HP G35 for the same price?". WHy people do things that are distasteful is beyond me. I swear some people put an exhaust on a car just becaise everyone else does it. I've seen Honda Oddessy minivans with fart cans on it.

Age demographics plays a role too. Some of you guys who have been around a while might notice this trend, but 03-04's seem to be owned by mostly younger guys, esp the coupes. 05/06 is kinda a middle year. I see plenty of younger guys with them, but there are a few guys in their late 20's and early 30's with them. Go over to the 07+ board, and it's mostly older (30's+) guys. You'll also notice the difference in tastes between the younger guys and the older guys. My style tends to lean more toward the older guys, who lower slightly, debage, tint and put on a nice set of wheels and have an overall clean simple car that looks so good. Meanwhile a lot of younger guys join and their first 2-3 posts are centered around body kits, 20" wheels, and other stuff that some may not like.

I know i've generalized a bit here. I know there are a few younger guys here with very clean cars, and there are a few older guys on the boards who need a little direction in making visual cues work together.
