-From what I seen so far, one of the most common reason for vehicle stalling on startup is due to dirty throttle body. (cleaner costs $5 at auto parts retailer).

-Check engine light is also commonly lit due to bad /or worn out oxygen sensors.

i checked the throttle body .. its clean.

have not checked the codes yet. i reset the ECU ..yet again. just wanting to see if it happens again. (loss of power while driving, stalling, ect.)

The CEL pretty much will tell you what's wrong. Go to AZ, ask them for their code reader (they will ask for license as a deposit) go out to parking lot and scan the codes.

Then come back here and tell us what came up.

Much better than blindly throwing $$$ at the problem.

CRANKshaft position sensor?

opposed to CAMshaft

thats actually what i just thought of... CRANK sensor rather than cam sensors....


where is the CRANK Sensor located??

yes so u got the cam shaft position sensor switched out right umm do you know exactly where its at 'im having the same problem with my g35...

I am experiencing the same problem too, it usually happened when I tried starting the car after I let it sit for like more than 10hrs or overnight. The starter cranks but the engine wouldnt fire up, it usually fired up after a minute or two trying to crank it.

Could it be the battery? I mean all my accessories work fine and theres no signs of power shortage.

2004 G35x, has issues starting in the morning when it is cold. Just seems to take a little longer than normal to start. Once it is warm however, it starts just fine. Could this be a spark plug issue (they have never been changed to my knowledge) or maybe a starter?

Car has 96,000 miles.

Starter has nothing to do with actually starting the engine...it just spins it. So if the engine turns over at the same speed...it's fine.

Not firing up right away can be many things. First thing I usually say ismwhen was last time routine maintainece was done? Could be anything frommbad plugs, to a dirty idle air controller unit

Takes a 4 cranks to start

Having the same issue. Car takes about 4-5 cranks to start and im not sure why. Have a 04g35 120k miles. CEL is ine, SLIP light on and VDC off light is on. Just had the battery alternator checked and all is good. Any ideas what the issue may be? Cam or crank sensors?
